Hollyoaks' Dee Dee faces birthday turmoil as Halloween party takes dark turn

Hollyoaks' Dee Dee Hutchinson is set to face more turmoil as her birthday approaches. The troubled teen has been at the centre of a grooming storyline at the hands of her teacher and former drugs counsellor, Abigail Matthews.

Abigail has been manipulating the youngster following the death of her mother, Diane Hutchinson, recently admitting she has romantic feelings for her and pushing her to keep their relationship under wraps.

She put Dee Dee in further danger when she stood her up on what was meant to be their first date, leaving her stranded in Manchester with no money or means of contacting anyone when her phone died.

Dee Dee got out of the situation unscathed, but she is set to face further upset when she and twin brothers Ant and Ro celebrate their 16th birthdays.

In scenes set to air next week, Dee Dee is caught sneaking into her home once again after spending time with Abigail.

Her loved ones are devastated and concerned when they discover she has been drinking, and to protect Abigail, she uses Kathleen-Angel McQueen as an alibi. As punishment, Tony bans her from her birthday party.

Elsewhere, party planner Maddox Keane begs Tony to host the celebrations at The Dog after the power cuts out at the park kiosk where it was originally supposed to be held.

Sienna Blake walks in on Kathleen-Angel and Dee Dee arguing and gets the wrong end of the stick after Dee Dee previously asked Sienna how she realised she was attracted to women.

The incident sees Sienna tell Tony that his daughter might be confused about her feelings for Kathleen-Angel – not realising it was Abigail that Dee Dee was speaking about when she questioned Sienna.

Later, Ant, Ro, and Dee Dee prepare their best fancy dress costumes for their Halloween party/sweet sixteen bash rolled into one, with Tony telling Dee Dee she can go along and celebrate.

An emotional scene will see Tony play the teenagers a voice message from Diane, which she recorded before she passed.

Maddox gets Dee Dee a heartfelt gift and is hopeful that the former lovebirds can rekindle their relationship.

Confused, Dee Dee does wonder whether she would be better off pursuing a romance with Maddox, meanwhile, Trina sets her sights on him.

Dee Dee and Abigail have an argument at the party, with Nancy Osbourne walking in on the two. Will they be able to keep their relationship under wraps?

After the Halloween party goes up in flames, Ro and Ant attempt to get through to Dee Dee and figure out why she has been acting out.

Abigail also sets off to find Dee Dee, finding her at Diane's grave. Dee Dee believes that Abigail is the only person who truly understands her, but will she see through her behaviour?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
