Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued three kidnapped victims during an operation in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The victims were identified as Aisha Aminu, 46; Sumayya Aminu, 27; and Nana Abbas, 15.

The rescue operation took place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with two of the victims rescued at Makuku Village and the third at Dankolo Village.

The development was disclosed in a statement made available to our correspondent on Sunday by the spokesman for the 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba.

According to the statement, the operation was successfully concluded without any incident.

“The victims were subsequently handed over to the District Head of Dirindaji, Alhaji Usman Muhammad, through the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government Area,” the statement said.

The military described the operation as successful, noting that the rescued victims were transferred to the relevant local authorities after their recovery.

“The operation was concluded successfully without any incident,” the statement added.

Osoba reaffirmed the troops’ commitment to protecting residents and communities in the state, stressing that troops remained focused on their responsibility to safeguard lives and property.

“Troops remain committed to the protection of lives and property,” the statement said.

The rescue comes amid persistent security concerns in parts of Nigeria’s North-West, where kidnapping and other criminal activities have continued to threaten residents and disrupt community life.
