Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam 3' crosses Rs 300 crore at the worldwide box office, beats Tom Cruise's 'Digger', as the film passes the Monday test and remains steady

Ajay Devgn’s return as Vijay Salgaonkar has turned the final chapter of the ‘Drishyam’ franchise into a major box-office success. ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ has maintained a strong run since its October 2 release and has now crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in India in just five days.

According to Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 216.50 crore net in India, while its worldwide gross has reached Rs 341.30 crore.Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the crime thriller opened with Rs 62 crore net on Friday. It followed that up with Rs 53.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 61 crore on Sunday, taking its three-day India net collection to Rs 176.50 crore. The film then recorded Rs 21 crore on its first Monday and another Rs 19 crore on Tuesday, according to Sacnilk.The Monday drop was expected after the extended Gandhi Jayanti weekend, but the film still managed a sizeable Rs 21 crore on a regular working day. Sacnilk reported around 25% overall occupancy across 16,274 shows on Monday. By the end of Day 4, the film had registered Rs 197.50 crore net in India and Rs 309 crore worldwide.The fifth day further pushed the domestic total past the Rs 200 crore milestone. With Rs 19 crore net on Tuesday, the film’s India net stood at Rs 216.50 crore.

Its India gross reached Rs 259.80 crore, while the overseas gross stood at Rs 81.50 crore, taking the worldwide gross to Rs 341.30 crore. Sacnilk also recorded more than 82,000 shows and a total India footfall of over 8.7 million by this point.The film brings back Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, the cable operator who has repeatedly gone to extraordinary lengths to protect his family. Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav also reprise their respective roles, while Jaideep Ahlawat joins the franchise as Rajveer Singh Tomar, a Crime Branch officer determined to unravel the mystery surrounding Vijay and his family.‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ marks the culmination of the Hindi crime-thriller franchise, which began with Nishikant Kamat’s ‘Drishyam’ in 2015. The first film introduced audiences to Vijay and his desperate attempts to protect his family after his daughter became involved in a crime.The story continued with ‘Drishyam 2’ in 2022, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of that year. The third instalment takes the Salgaonkars’ story forward while introducing a fresh investigation and another battle of wits between Vijay and the authorities.‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ is produced by Panorama Studios and presented by Star Studio18. The film has been written by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.
