Udhayveer Sidhu won silver in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, Egpyt on Sunday, October 11.
The 24-year-old marksman totalled a score of 240.6, finishing 0.5 ahead of Italy’s Paolo Monna in second. Germany’s Christian Reitz won bronze with 219.8 points.
This is his first medal at the ISSF World Cup.
Udhayveer had qualified for the final by finishing fourth in qualifying, behind Monna, Reitz, and compatriot Jonathan Gavin Antony, who was playing for ranking points only and was not eligible to compete for a medal.
Interestingly, among Udhayveer’s competitors was Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec, who gained notoriety on social media during the 2024 Paris Olympics for his languid shooting style. Dikec placed seventh on Sunday.
