Coronation Street's Beverley Callard reveals she "lost consciousness" while filming

Coronation Street star Beverley Callard has revealed that she "lost consciousness" while filming her soap Fair City. The actor opened up about the health ordeal in a new Instagram post, confirming that she is thankfully on the mend now.

"What a day," she began in the clip, sharing that she was filming "the most amazing scenes" when she blacked out.

"It was all going swimmingly, and then today, I've no idea what happened to me, but I was all ready to start a new scene with Emily, who plays my daughter, and we just sat there getting ready, about to run lines, and I sort of lost consciousness for a few minutes, maybe 10 minutes, which was very odd," she shared.

"Anyway, because of protocol at work, they had to check me out and everything. An ambulance came. I desperately didn't want to go to hospital."

Beverley said she "recovered and felt fine again", though "can't explain what it was" that had happened to her.

"I was boiling hot. As I say, I seemed to lose 10 minutes but I don't know why. So I was checked out by the ambulance men and everything and they were happy to let me come home as long as I rested," the star continued.

"So I've got rest all weekend but now, I have to tell you, I feel a complete fraud because I'm home and I feel perfectly normal. The only thing that did happen was my blood pressure was through the roof but obviously I've not been right since the radiotherapy."

The star concluded the post by admitting she doesn't "know what's going on" and is awaiting results from tests.

"Well… that was an eventful day at work!" she captioned the posts. "Not really something I can explain but I certainly wasn’t expecting a visit from paramedics today. I’m feeling fine now…just another sign that something isn’t quite right."

Beverley has been battling breast cancer in recent months after sharing she had been diagnosed earlier this year.

Back in July, the star confirmed she had completed radiotherapy after having three lymph nodes removed, sharing at the time: "10 sessions over and done with! Lots more appointments down the line but for now…I’m so happy for it to be over! Celebrating with a cuppa on the sofa."
