Aston Villa sack manager Natalia Arroyo with club second-bottom of WSL

Aston Villa have sacked their women’s manager Natalia Arroyo with the club second-bottom of the Women’s Super League with two points from four matches.

Arroyo was appointed in January 2025 and guided Villa to safety before finishing ninth in her first full campaign. That season ended with four straight defeats and the poor form has continued.

Villa said Brian Sørensen, the women’s technical advisor, would take temporary charge, including for Wednesday’s Subway Players Cup tie against Newcastle. Sørensen has extensive coaching experience, including in the WSL with Everton.
