India pacer Anshul Kamboj has left the India A squad midway through the team’s ongoing unofficial Test series against Australia A after being called up as injured Prasidh Krishna’s replacement for the ODI series against West Indies.
Kamboj was part of the India A XI for the second unofficial Test against Australia A in Puducherry, which began on September 30. He has now departed the squad, with Praful Hinge replacing him in the India A playing XI.
Kamboj had picked up three wickets for 34 runs in the first essay, bowling 17.3 overs. However, he rolled his arm for just a couple of overs in the second before leaving for national duty.
India has already sealed the ODI series 2-0 but will face West Indies in the third and final match on October 3 in New Chandigarh. Kamboj’s inclusion adds another pace option to the squad ahead of the series finale.
