Pagasa: Neneng weakens into LPA, exits PAR


MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression (TD) Neneng has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA) and exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
In its weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that, as of 4 p.m, the center of Neneng was estimated 480 kilometers (km) north of Itbayat, Batanes outside the PAR, while moving almost stationary.
The weather bureau said that the weather disturbance will generally move northward towards the East China sea.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Saudel remained outside of the PAR, located 2,745 km east of Eastern Visayas, with maximum sustained winds of 75 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km per hour.

The second TD, formerly LPA, is located outside of the Tropical Cyclone Information Domain and is no longer being monitored, according to Pagasa.

Pagasa maintained that the southwest monsoon, or habagat, will persist to bring gloomy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience isolated rain showers also due to the habagat. /jpv
