WWE may already have two huge matches planned for WrestleMania 43, with CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes II and Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi reportedly set to headline the two nights. Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman shared this on The 2 Count podcast, saying his sources told him both matches are locked in. The event is scheduled for Saudi Arabia in April 2027, and it becomes the first time WrestleMania will take place outside North America. WWE hasn't officially announced either main event yet. But if you really look at it, the reported plans point toward a big clash between established stars and a rising powerhouse.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes reportedly set for a WrestleMania rematch
According to Coachman's report, a second showdown between Punk and Rhodes could headline one night of WrestleMania 43. The two haven't faced each other since their Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam.
Right now both men are busy with separate rivalries, Rhodes dealing with Randy Orton and Punk stuck in a feud with Kevin Owens. So a WrestleMania meeting is still quite far away, even if the plans are already made. A story this big needs time to breathe.
Coachman said on The 2 Count that one source contacted him with a strong claim about next year's event.
“Yeah. Well, I had so one of my connections actually called me yesterday, and they said 1000% for WrestleMania, it's Cody-Punk and it's Oba-Roman... I was told 100% that's going to be the two nights' main event.”
Still, this is only a report from Coachman and not an official WWE announcement. But it puts the Punk and Rhodes rematch firmly inside the WrestleMania conversation, honestly.
Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi could headline the other night
The other reported main event would see Roman Reigns going up against Oba Femi, a matchup which was already teased on WWE television.
Femi called out Reigns during the Money in the Bank post-show, giving a direct message to the former world champion.
“Tribal Chief! No more running. It's about that time.”
Femi has continued his dominant run since moving to the main roster. He defeated Brock Lesnar twice, with the second victory sending Lesnar into retirement at SummerSlam, and he also got past Bronson Reed and The Vision at Money in the Bank.
Coachman also talked about how WWE might build Femi towards a possible WrestleMania clash with Reigns. He suggested the company could book Femi to keep beating opponents in the coming months, especially if Reigns only shows up once in a while.
“Not his fault, but that's how creative is going to book this, because they want to make Oba,” Coachman said, adding that the two men had combined for just one loss in 2026.
WrestleMania 43 is expected to happen in Riyadh in April 2027, although WWE hasn't confirmed the exact date or these reported main events. The Saudi General Entertainment Authority is reportedly paying $150 million to bring the show to the country.
