Translate

Aerobics instructor, Paul Nwagu, has commended Complete Sports for promoting a healthy lifestyle among Nigerians through Complete Sports Celebrity Workout initiative.

The third edition of the event, organised by Complete Communications Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, took place at the serene Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, 10 October, 2026.

The event attracted a large turnout of participants, predominantly from Lagos, who gathered to exercise, improve their fitness and embrace healthier living.

Participants were taken through various workout routines by Nwagu and his team of fitness instructors. Many expressed satisfaction with the impact of the exercise session and commended the organisers for putting together a successful event.

Nwagu Praises Organisers For Complete Sports Celebrity Workout Initiative

Nwagu, who also participated in the previous edition of the Complete Sports Celebrity Workout, expressed delight at the impressive turnout at the third edition and praised the organisers for sustaining the initiative.

“It’s exciting to be part of this amazing event again. It’s a good concept and initiative by Complete Sports. The main objective is to create awareness about the importance of keeping fit,” Nwagu told Completesports.com.

“I was part of the previous edition, and what we have here is a good turnout. It’s quite massive and impressive. The target now is to get bigger and better. Let’s keep doiong this regularly and continue preaching the message of healthy living.

“Complete Sports has already impacted lives positively with this programme. More people are getting to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise.

“I strongly believe subsequent editions will be bigger and better. The key thing is to keep pushing hard and improving the publicity.

“With more publicity, the organisers will continue to attract bigger crowds in the future. I also hope to be here for many, many more years.”

Nigerians Increasingly Embracing Exercise

Nwagu also described the impressive turnout as evidence that Nigerians are increasingly recognising the importance of physical exercise and healthy living.

According to the aerobics expert, more people now dedicate time to working out, whether in gyms or through outdoor activities such as jogging.

“I must say Nigerians are beginning to understand the importance of exercising the body. It is highly important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

“Compared to 10 or 15 years ago, when people didn’t fancy engaging in exercise, they now recognise it as an important part of their lives. People want to work out these days.

“If you don’t see them in the gym, you see them jogging around, unlike before. I can remember about 15 years ago, if you asked someone to come and work out, they would tell you they hadn’t eaten.

“Nigerians now want to exercise their bodies. They want to go to the gym, whether they have eaten or not, because they now understand the importance of physical exercise.”

Physical Exercise Should Be Part Of Daily Routine

The fitness instructor urged Nigerians to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines rather than waiting for organised fitness programmes or visiting a gym before exercising.

“It’s something we should always engage in, something we should include in our daily activities. Every movement we have done today is something we can engage in daily, at home and in our offices,” he declared.

“We must not be in the gym before we engage in exercise. At home and in the office, you can exercise your body. When you are in the office, for example, you can just get up, walk around and stretch your legs. Those are some of the movements you can engage in.”

Schools And Companies Must Embrace Fitness

Nwagu further called on schools and corporate organisations to make physical exercise a regular part of their activities, noting that it would improve students’ well-being and boost workplace productivity.

He stressed that schools should encourage students to participate in physical activities to support their health and mental alertness.

“It is advisable for schools to make this mandatory for their students. It will sharpen the students’ brains and also make them healthier,” he said.

“Not just schools, but companies too, because if you have healthy staff, it will improve the level of productivity.

“If your staff are healthy, they will be more productive. Companies can introduce it, maybe once a month or once every quarter. Bring your staff together, get a fitness expert and let them do a 30- or 40-minute workout. It will go a long way, and they will be more productive.”

Message to Nigerians

The aerobics expert concluded by encouraging Nigerians who have yet to embrace physical exercise to start making time for it, while urging those already committed to fitness to remain consistent.

“I also want to implore Nigerians who are still averse to exercising their bodies to find time to do so. There are different exercises they can engage in. We have low- and high-impact workouts. They should make it a daily habit,” he stated.

“To those who are already into it, they should not relent. They are enjoying the benefits, and they should maintain the routine.”
