Indonesia launches digital travel pack to boost tourism, MSMEs

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia launched the Indonesia Travel Pack 2026 on Saturday, a digital platform enabling foreign tourists to plan trips, process payments, and connect directly with local small businesses before arriving.
Unveiled during the joint Indonesian Digital Financial Economy Festival (FEKDI) and Indonesia Fintech Summit Expo (IFSE) 2026, the updated framework introduces a pre-departure digital e-book allowing travelers to explore and scan itinerary locations from abroad.
Bank Indonesia Senior Deputy Governor Aida S. Budiman said the initiative connects connectivity access, verified destination itineraries, and digital payment processing into a single platform.
"The Indonesia Travel Pack now features a digital e-book format," Budiman said in a statement. "Foreign tourists do not need to wait until they arrive in the country—they can scan and access destination information right from their home country."
She added that information on the platform is drawn from verified official sources and accessible across multiple entry points, including airports, mobile networks, tourist zones, and commercial merchants.
The platform relies on three primary pillars: Explore, Payment, and Connect.
The Explore feature delivers verified location data and travel itineraries, while the Payment function manages integrated digital financial transactions.
Meanwhile, the Connect feature provides mobile connectivity via SIM or e-SIM cards supported by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.
Budiman highlighted that the platform advances Bank Indonesia’s broader cross-border payment connectivity efforts, including expanding regional QR code interoperability and local currency settlement mechanisms to support national digital transformation.
