Ethan Hawke’s Batman Series Officially Releases Season 3 On HBO Max Next Week

Ethan Hawke is coming back as Batman soon, and DC fans will be able to finally watch the Dark Knight's latest chapter in full. Hawke is among them as the voice behind Batman in the animated series Batwheels, which focuses on the Bat-Family's sentient vehicles in a Pixar's Cars meets DC kind of premise. Now, Hawke's Batman series is getting ready to return with a major release.

Batwheels Season 3's HBO Max Release Date Comes At The Perfect Time

Warner Bros. Discovery has unveiled HBO Max's slate of releases for October, which confirmed that Hawke's Batwheels season 3 will be released on the streaming service on October 2. There are three other HBO Max arrivals set for the same day, including Maine Cabin Masters season 13, Strange: Junji Ito’s Tales for Sleepless Nights season 1, and the HBO original series The Torment season 1. Previously, HBO Max had been releasing Batwheels season 3 in multiple parts, with the latest being dubbed Batwheels season 3E, having arrived on September 19. It seems like season 3 will be made whole with this final batch of episodes.

There could be no better timing for Batwheels season 3 to arrive on HBO Max, as the release comes right before DC's next major project and a key finale. By releasing on HBO Max on October 2, Batwheels season 3 will be available for DC fans to binge in the lead-up to the Lanterns season 1 finale on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, October 4, just a couple of days later. After that, DC Studios will have one of its biggest releases of the year, as the Batman villain movie Clayface hits theaters on October 23. A version of Clayface is in the animated series.

Will Ethan Hawke's Batwheels Return For Season 4?

At the time of writing, there have been no updates regarding whether Batwheels season 4 might happen. Previously, the DC animated series was renewed for season 3 in October 2024, a couple of months before the final batch of episodes in Batwheels season 2 was released that December. Given how the same is not possible for Batwheels season 4, as season 3 is already seemingly set to conclude in a week on HBO Max, the DC series' future remains uncertain. Perhaps when Batwheels season 3 comes to HBO Max on October 2, an announcement will be made.
