Romualdez to stay in PGH indefinitely starting Sept. 12

MANILA, Philippines — Former House Speaker Martin Romualdez will be transferred to the Philippine General Hospital on Saturday and will stay there until further notice from the court, the Sandiganbayan Third Division said on Friday.
Associate Justice Karl Miranda, chair of the Third Division, made the announcement.

Romualdez was admitted to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center on Monday due to chest pain, the same day his arrest warrant for plunder came out.
The Sandiganbayan Third Division issued an arrest warrant against Romualdez, former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co and two others hours after the Office of the Ombudsman filed the information containing the formal charges against the accused for bribery involving alleged kickbacks worth P7.44 billion. /mr
