Neuralink recently shared a video of a clinical trial participant with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) using the company's N1 brain implant to communicate again — not just through generic text-to-speech, but through a synthetic voice built to sound like his own, from before his illness took his ability to speak. The emotional high point of the clip: the participant using the implant to tell his partner "I love you," in a voice that matched how he used to sound.

Musk responded to the demo with a short but cute reaction, saying “I love you."
