(Asiad) S. Korea grabs bronze in men's 4x100m relay in nat'l record time
NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korea claimed bronze in the men's 4x100-meter relay at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Monday, setting a national record after having an earlier disqualification rule overturned.
The quartet of Seo Min-jun, Joel Jin Nwamadi, Lee Jae-seong and Daniel Biwesa clocked 38.43 seconds to finish in third place, with China (38.17) and Chinese Taipei (38.32) finishing ahead of them at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Nagoya, central Japan.
This was South Korea's second straight Asiad bronze medal in this race.
This year's team improved the previous national record by 0.06 second.
South Korea was initially disqualified after the heats on Sunday, due to an apparent violation of a baton exchange rule.
The national team coaching staff immediately appealed the ruling and had it successfully overturned.
