Thick smoke near DUKE goes viral, cause unknown

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Thick smoke billowing near the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE), beyond the Sentul toll plaza towards the city centre, caught the attention of motorists this morning.

The incident drew attention online after a video shared by Threads user @snapaholicphotography showed thick grey smoke engulfing an area near the expressway.

The footage also showed vehicles slowing down, including motorcyclists riding through the smoke.

The user claimed the smoke was coming from a drain near the highway, but its source has yet to be confirmed.

It remains unclear whether the smoke was caused by a fire or another incident, and whether anyone was injured.

The New Straits Times has reached out to the Fire and Rescue Department for further information on the incident.
