Rhea Seehorn Says Even Beta Blocker Can't Stop Her Crying at Emmys 2026

Rhea Seehorn had a place saved for her Emmy. 

While the Pluribus star emphasized she was “shocked” by her Emmys 2026 win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series, she admitted she already had a spot picked out to display the trophy. 

“She’s going in my partially converted garage that’s an office and a painting studio,” Seehorn told E! News in an exclusive interview backstage at the Sept. 14 ceremony, “and one of my favorite places to be.”

Seehorn—who took home the Golden Globe for her performance in the Apple TV series earlier this year—is certainly at an apex of her career, but she considered that she’s trying not to rest too comfortably on her laurels.

“I would say in the last couple of years, I’ve kind of been trying to tap back into what my younger self was doing and getting advice from that because nobody thought I was going to make anything of myself,” the Better Call Saul alum shared. “I was a hard worker and I was in love with the work part of it.”

Indeed, Seehorn assured that not every night looks like accepting a big gold trophy in a red Louis Vuitton gown—but more so like running lines at her house alone. 

“When I speak to young people I say, ‘You better love that part because even in success you will still be doing more hours by yourself doing the prep,’” she shared. “If you want to be decent at it.”

Plus, she sometimes prefers that part of the job, especially when it comes to getting on stage to deliver an acceptance speech noting she’s “terrified of public speaking,” emphasizing, “absolutely mortified.”

Still, Seehorn—who bested Zendaya, Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti and Keri Russell to receive her first Emmy—delivered her speech with a perfect balance of poise and honesty. 

“This is me on a beta blocker,” she joked while on stage. “It’s pretty bad. Thank you to the Television Academy so much and all of the member that voted and I also want to say congratulations and thank you for the performances to my fellow nominees.”

In fact, Seehorn was so bold as to shut down the ceremony’s infamous wrap up signal so she could deliver proper gratitude to Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan.

“They’re telling me to wrap it up but no,” she continued. “Thank you, Vince Gilligan, for giving me not only the role of a lifetime but for creating sets where we all get to collaborate and we are actually made to feel safe to take risks so that we get better as artists.”
