Avatar: Journey Of Aang Officially Releases September 2026
Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.
Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.
If you are anything like me, then you happily grew up alongside Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender when it aired for three seasons back in 2005 to 2008. Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the animated television show followed the story of Aang, the current Avatar who is able to bend all four elements in an attempt to maintain harmony between the four nations. Joined by the likes of Katara, Sokka, and Toph, the gang aim to put a stop to the Fire Nations war before Fire Lord Ozai conquers the world.
Receiving critical acclaim and now being regarded as one of the greatest animated television shows of all time, Avatar: The Last Airbender has since welcomed comic books, novels, an animated sequel series, a live-action film (although we do not discuss this), and even a live-action television series courtesy of Netflix. It may have been almost two decades since the original show came to an end, but fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender are always eager for more.
Luckily, that wish has been granted as Avatar: Journey of Aang is now available for pre-order courtesy of Bad Crow Games.
Available for pre-order on Thirsty Meeples, Avatar: Journey of Aang is an upcoming co-operative adventure board game inspired by the hit show. In a nutshell, you and fellow players will be tasked with helping Aang master the elements and defeat the Fire Lord once and for all.
Help Aang master the four elements — fire, air, earth and water — by drafting cards into his practice tableau, unlocking powerful new techniques, confronting dangerous foes and using the environment to your advantage. Every decision matters as Sozin's Comet draws ever closer. Will you reach Fire Lord Ozai in time, or be forced to face him at the height of the comet's power?
Race against the clock, work together, and see whether you have what it takes to guide Aang to victory.
By taking on the role of Aang and his companions, Avatar: Journey of Aang will see players work together to restore balance to the world in stunning games that take around 30-60 minutes to complete. Not only that, but this brand-new board game offers two editions: Standard and Deluxe. The Deluxe edition retails at £74.00 but comes alongside "refined components and elevated production quality, delivering the fullest version of the Avatar experience."
Available for pre-order now ahead of its launch, which is yet to be officially unveiled, this will guarantee that you get your hands on Avatar: Journey of Aang and experience the story of the Avatar for the first time all over again.
