Police question suspect who said Amir Ohana, rest of Likud 'deserving of death'

A 27-year-old Tel Aviv resident had been summoned for questioning at the Tel Aviv South Police Station on suspicion of incitement to violence following social media posts targeting Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, the Israel Police announced on Wednesday.

Police said they released the suspect after questioning under restrictive conditions, adding that the investigation remains ongoing.

The investigation follows Ohana, a Likud lawmaker, posting on social media on Tuesday about his experience accompanying his children to their first day of school.

Ohana said he encountered stickers featuring his image painted red, alongside the words “There is no forgiveness,” while walking with his children to school.

“There is no camp that is as violent, despicable, and ugly in spirit as the camp that is capable of staining the first day of school of my children, Ella and David, who are starting sixth grade this morning," he wrote in a post.

Suspect: Ohana has compassion for those who had none

The Tel Aviv resident suspected of incitement to violence responded to Ohana’s post, writing: “I agree that this is not necessarily the best service for the camp, but all 64 should be considered deserving of death in every sense of the word. Let them suffer every remaining day of their lives.

"I don’t know what it says about you that you have compassion for those who had no compassion for the hostages,” he added.
