Wales travel to Lisbon on Thursday night as Craig Bellamy's side get their Nations League campaign underway against Portugal.

Portugal are the reigning Nations League champions after their second triumph in 2025, which made them the most successful team in the competition since its inception eight years ago.

The home side are in a transitional period after Roberto Martínez, who only guided Portugal to the round of 16 at the World Cup in the summer, was replaced by ex-Benfica boss Jorge Jesus.

Jesus will be desperate to kick off his tenure with a dominant win in front of a home crowd in Lisbon and Wales will be well aware of the uphill battle they face to stop Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

Bellamy's side, who failed to qualify for this year's World Cup, are in League A after their promotion last time out alongside Portugal, Denmark and Norway, so there won't be any easy games between now and mid-November for Wales.
