The Lord of the Rings is officially returning to Gondor, as well as a few other iconic locations, thanks to The White Tower and the Hall of Gold, a new book from Free League Publishing that focuses on areas in and around Minas Tirith. Additionally, a new bestiary called Creatures Strange and Foul will release alongside revised Core Rules for The One Ring RPG.

The new books will all go live on BackerKit starting today, September 22. Backers will get early PDFs months ahead of official release, as well as other perks. The Realms of the South, a new book for The Lord of the Rings 5e, will focus on Rohan while The White Tower and the Hall of Gold focuses on Rohan. As far as Core Rules go, The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying 5e rules manual will be updated to the 5.5 ruleset (D&D's rules update from 2024) as part of this BackerKit campaign. The new core rulebook will include some general fixes and revisions in line with the revision of the core rules for The One Ring.

Collector's Editions are also available, with the official description:

Both The One Ring and The Lord of the Rings 5e offer up some excellent LOTR role-playing, so it's cool to see these new releases happening. Getting to roam around Gondor and Rohan, both memorable countries in the books and movies, should appeal to a wide range of The Lord of the Rings fans as well. If you've never played these TTRPGs before, consider grabbing a Starter Set. They contain everything you need to get started playing the game.
