Hiring staff for disabled learners pushed

Translate

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) should immediately fill 133 newly created personnel positions aimed at strengthening support and specialized services for learners with disabilities, Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian urged.

The call for urgent hiring follows the Department of Budget and Management’s approval of the 133 new plantilla items, which include vital roles such as Senior Education Program Specialists, Education Program Specialist IIs, Physical Therapist IIs and Occupational Therapist IIs.

“Even though there is still a great necessity for experts for our learners with disabilities, it is important to slowly fill these new positions to ensure the effective delivery of needed programs and services,” Gatchalian said.
