KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — Efforts to recover payments made for the Trans-Sabah Gas Pipeline (TSGP) and Multi-Product Pipeline (MPP) projects, as well as tighter security at the country’s borders, are among the issues expected to be raised in the Dewan Rakyat today.

According to the Order Paper on Parliament’s official website, during Ministers’ Question Time, Datuk Jonathan Yasin (GRS-Ranau) will ask the Prime Minister about measures to recover payments for the TSGP and MPP projects, which reportedly received 88 per cent of their total payments, amounting to RM8.3 billion, despite being only 13 per cent complete.

Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) will seek an explanation from the Prime Minister on measures to strengthen border security and improve coordination among enforcement agencies following an increase in drug and contraband smuggling, particularly through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Subang Airport.

During the oral question-and-answer session, Datuk Seri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali (BN-Pekan) will ask the Works Minister about the number and value of delayed or troubled projects, the main causes of delays, action against contractors and the resulting additional costs to the government.

Onn Abu Bakar (PH-Batu Pahat) will ask the Finance Minister about the government’s accountability measures for loss-making government agencies and subsidiaries due to poor governance or underperforming investment decisions, including the responsibilities of board members and senior management.

Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN-Kepala Batas) will ask the Communications Minister about the rationale for removing censorship of PG18-rated films in Malaysia and the relevance of the classification, as well as the future direction of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) following the policy change.

Roy Angau Gingkoi (GPS-Lubok Antu) will seek details from the Communications Minister on the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) technology and expertise in detecting online gambling traffic and identifying and blocking gambling servers or platforms, including through cooperation with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Following the oral question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will continue its Committee Stage debate and ministerial replies on the 2027 Supply Bill involving the Finance Ministry and Foreign Ministry.
