The Indian women’s 25m pistol team missed out on a potential gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery on Monday.
The trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rahi Sarnobat finished fifth, behind China, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, and India. But at one point, India was looking at a potential gold medal in the event.
Things took a drastic turn when Rahi missed the target and caught the frame with her last shot during her first rapid series.
This saw India plummet to sixth before eventually settling for a fifth-placed finish.
Meanwhile, Esha finished eighth in the qualification round with a total of 580 to enter the final.
Manu (579) stood 11th, while Rahi Sarnobat (568) was 30th.
