NEW DELHI: AISA national president Neha Bora on Sunday claimed that protesting journalists have been detained at the Delhi Cantonment Police Station.In a post on X, Neha said "Rosy and other protesting journalists are detained at Delhi Cantt PS.

Team of lawyer comrades are in touch with them. But if any lawyer can be at the PS immediately, pls DM."

Rosy is among the three female journalists who filed complaint alleging sexual harassment by police personnel during a protest in the New Delhi area on October 3.The complants have been transferred to the Crime Branch at Kamla Market for further action.TMC extends support to CJPTrinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O’Brien on Sunday extended support to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders as party spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka claimed that multiple sources had warned that the three could be arrested before October 10 under the National Security Act (NSA) or other equivalent provisions.“With you all the way 🪳🪳stay strong. ‘10 Oct poora desh aa raha hai…’,” O’Brien said in a post on X while replying to Dipke.

'We follow the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi': DipkeCJP founder Abhijeet Dipke reacting to the claim said they would not be intimidated by the possibility of action under laws such as the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) or National Security Act (NSA).

“If the Govt believes that the threat of UAPA, NSA or years behind bars will scare us into silence, it won’t,” Dipke said in a post on X, adding that the protesters were prepared to spend “months or years in jail” but would not back down from their campaign to “save democracy”.

He further said that they follow the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi and continue to resist “peacefully and non-violently”, despite what he described as attempts by the state to intimidate them.The developments come amid the CJP-led campaign against the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The protesters have been demanding accountability from chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the exercise and have announced further mobilisation on October 10 in Delhi.
