Emmerdale airs sudden change in Sadie and Caleb's storyline - but what is she up to?

Translate

Sadie took matters into her own hands in her gripping Emmerdale storyline with Ruby and Caleb tonight (3 November). The episode began with Caleb spotting his wife walking out of Vanessa’s house, suffering a hangover following a heavy night of drinking.

Caleb was riddled with worry after he did not hear from Ruby overnight, especially after Sadie claimed in the previous episode that Ruby had slept with Ross.

Ruby admitted she was drunk but strongly denied cheating on her husband, before calling Sadie to confront her. "Why did you lie to my husband?" a furious Ruby asked Sadie when she arrived. She responded: "I didn't."

As she attempted to further drive a wedge between the couple, Sadie said it appeared that Ruby had slept with Ross as she saw them leave the pub together.

Ruby once again denied the claims. Later, Caleb admitted he had mentioned to Sadie that if Ruby was sleeping with Ross, their marriage would be over.

What Ruby does not know is that her husband cheated on her with Sadie. After Ruby apologised and went upstairs, Caleb told Sadie that he would not have slept with her if he knew Ruby had not been unfaithful to him.

A desperate Caleb then offered to buy Sadie's silence, but she threw his money on the floor in disgust before leaving his house.

Sadie then called Joe to meet up with him, where she did something completely unexpected.

Sadie and Joe had hatched a plan that would see her seduce Caleb and ultimately destroy his marriage, as Joe wants to avenge those he believed wronged his late wife, Dawn.

In return, Sadie would receive money from Joe. However, the deal is now off after Sadie surprisingly denied sleeping with Caleb, calling Ruby her "friend".

“So you're deciding to grow a conscience now?" said Joe, astounded by Sadie’s sudden change of heart. “Without my money, you are nothing.”

Sadie hit back, telling Joe to find someone else to do his dirty work. Before he walked away, Joe warned Sadie that he hoped she would not "live to regret" her decision.

It remains to be seen why Sadie did not tell Joe of her escapades with Caleb, but all will soon be revealed...

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
