Brenton Thwaites & Hannah John-Kamen Unveiled In Psychological Thriller ‘Can I Come In?’ As The Launch Company Commences Sales – AFM

EXCLUSIVE: Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), Hannah John-Kamen (Thunderbolts* ) and Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House) have been unveiled as the stars of horror thriller Can I Come In? as The Launch Company gears up to commence sales at the AFM.

Directed by Iranian Canadian director Rouzbeh Heydari, the film shot under the radar in Toronto earlier this year and has been in post-production through the summer and fall.

Thwaites stars as meticulous carpenter Thomas whose wife Katherine (John-Kamen) vanishes from the parking lot after a night shift at the hospital where she works as a nurse.

Haunted by nightmares and the gnawing feeling that she is not entirely gone, Tom spirals into obsession, until one night she comes back to the porch, a broken, frightening shell of herself, and asks him to let her in.

Rounding out the cast are Douglas Smith (Big Little Lies), Willa Holland (Arrow) and Anja Savcic (Loudermilk). Thomas plays Tom’s father, the town sheriff.

The screenplay is written by Jess Mastro & Nick Ruggia. Chris K. Daniels produced the film alongside Michael G. Nathanson.

The Launch Company produced through its Ontario production arm, Launch North. Sasha Manning is heading up its sales effort at the market.

“The horror films that speak to me are the ones that are character stories first, and genre second,” said Daniels. “This is a story about unprocessed grief in a family, told through the lens of a horror story. It’s the commonality in what we love so much in the space, with films like Together, Weapons and Smile.”

Heydari previous features include music industry drama A Hundred Lies which premiered on Apple TV in June 2025.

“Can I Come In? explores the dark manifestation of unresolved trauma, and what happens when that trauma is left unchecked for generations,” Heydari said of his new film.

“My approach was to ground the story in emotional truth and allow the surreal horror to emerge from everything these characters have spent their lives refusing to confront. We approached this as a story about a marriage, about love, grief, and the things we do to protect ourselves from pain. The things we bury don’t simply disappear. They fester, they take on a life of their own, and eventually, they come knocking.”

Thwaites recently starred in the Paramount+ series Two Years Later and opposite Daisy Ridley in We Bury the Dead. John-Kamen reprised her Marvel role as Ghost in Thunderbolts* and returns in Avengers: Doomsday next month. Thomas, a Saturn Award winner for The Haunting of Hill House, is a regular across Mike Flanagan’s Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher and Doctor Sleep.

Can I Come In? is one of four titles on Launch’s inaugural production slate, alongside The Technique, starring Emma Roberts, Noomi Rapace and Kelsey Asbille; You’re Safe Now, with Anja Savcic and Eric McCormack; and a fourth feature, shot earlier this year, that is to be announced.

The Launch Company is a Los Angeles-based production company and media venture studio. It is parent to Launch Financing, Launch Development, Cinelaunch and Launch North, which together provide the development resources, capital, tools and production infrastructure to move independent features from script to delivery.

Thwaites is repped by UTA and Luber Roklin Entertainment. John-Kamen is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Luber Roklin Entertainment. Thomas is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Inphenate.
