‘Reacher’ is all set and ready to return for another season with an adaptation of another Lee Child book. Fans are already buzzing with excitement over the upcoming season, and leading star Alan Ritchson is already in front of the camera again, filming for the new season in Canada.

In a recent post on social media, while he was interacting with fans, Ritchson ended up revealing how one of Child’s books almost made it to the season; however, because of internal changes, it never made it to the approval board.

While interacting with fans on Threads, Ritchson ended up sharing major news about how one of Lee Child’s novel’s plots almost made it to 'Reacher.' One of his fans had commented, “Every season of Reacher so far has been great, and I understand that they may be avoiding the earlier novels due to their slightly less standalone nature, but every year I'm sad to learn that next season won't be the book where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp.

”While replying to the post a day later, the actor shared, “My favorite book. Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.” Many fans replied to his comments, asking for more details about what happened and how the show could have been much better if this plot was followed. One fan even added, “What timeline are we in that fighting white supremacy is something we don’t want to see on screen?” Despite the fact that many fans commented on his post asking what he meant by the cryptic words, Ritchson did not provide any more details.

About Lee Child’s book, ‘Die Trying’

For context, the fan was referring to Child’s second novel in the Jack Reacher series titled ‘Die Trying,' which was published in 1988. The plot of the book revolved around the military police major infiltrating a Montana-based paramilitary militia. The organization is hell-bent on seceding from the United States and establishing a white-only state.Last month, Reacher shared videos from the sets of ‘Reacher’ season 5, teasing fans and sharing, “What’s that? Am I wearing a parka? That’s a great question. It’s really an honor to be shooting season 5 in the snow while you guys are enjoying season 4.” As of right now there is no update on when the next season will be releasing online.
