Instructor, student trapped in car after crash outside Melaka driving school

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — A 73-year-old driving instructor and his 20-year-old female student were trapped after the Perodua Axia they were travelling in was involved in a crash outside a driving institute in Kandang in Melaka yesterday.

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Fire Superintendent II Mohd Hafidzatullah Rashid said the department received an emergency call about the incident at 1.04pm, according to Kosmo! Online.

He said six personnel from the Padang Temu Fire and Rescue Station, along with a fire engine, were dispatched to the scene and arrived 10 minutes later.

“When the operation team arrived at the scene, it was found that a road accident had occurred involving a Perodua Axia driving school car and a Perodua Myvi.

“The 22-year-old male Myvi driver suffered minor injuries, while the 73-year-old driving instructor and his student, a 20-year-old woman, were trapped inside the Axia,” he said.

He said firefighters managed to extricate both victims before handing them over to Health Ministry personnel for further action.

The rescue operation ended at 3.04pm after firefighters ensured there were no other hazards at the scene.
