Egyptian authorities have refloated the cruise ship “Courchette”, carrying 99 tourists of various nationalities after it ran aground in the Nile, opposite the dock of the Kom Ombo Temple in Aswan.

River police and rescue units intervened to handle the incident, successfully returning the ship to its navigational channel while ensuring the safety of river traffic in the area.

No confirmed information is available regarding injuries among the tourists or damage to the vessel, RT reported on Saturday.

Nile cruise ships are vessels equipped to accommodate tourists and transport them between archaeological sites, particularly along the route between Luxor and Aswan.

They typically feature passenger cabins, restaurants, and seating areas.
