Man turns himself in after stabbing wife 13 times

An unemployed 43-year-old man was arrested after stabbing his 39-year-old wife to death with a switchblade at a house in Kulim, Kedah, last night.
Kulim police chief Syamsul Sinring said the murder, believed to have stemmed from jealousy, occurred in the master bedroom of the couple’s home.
They have a three-year-old child, Harian Metro reported.
“The suspect admitted to stabbing the victim 13 times: seven times in the chest, five times in the abdomen and once in the right rib area.
“After the incident, the suspect showered and took their child from a babysitter before handing the child over to his sister at the Juru rest stop on the North-South Expressway.
“He also informed his sister that he had stabbed his wife, before turning himself in at the Lunas police station,” he said.
Syamsul said the suspect does not have a criminal record and tested negative for drugs.
The case is being probed for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
