Kenya Power announces planned power maintenance in Nairobi, Nyeri and Meru
Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect parts of Nairobi, Nyeri and Meru counties on Friday, September 25, 2026.
The scheduled interruptions will take place at different times depending on the affected areas, with customers advised to make arrangements ahead of the maintenance.
Nairobi
In Nairobi, the maintenance will affect parts of Kitsuru from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas expected to experience the interruption include part of Ngecha Road, Lake View Estate and Mitini Estate, as well as adjacent customers.
Nyeri County
In Nyeri County, planned maintenance will affect Muruguru and Gikunju between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Muruguru Market, Muruguru Secondary School, Muruguru Village and Gikunju Maternity, alongside adjacent customers.
Meru County
In Meru County, maintenance will affect parts of Githindi, Kunati and Kinwe from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected locations include Kiamikuu Primary School, Kunati Safaricom Booster, Mutewa Secondary School, Marega Primary School, Kangethia Market, Athwana Youth Polytechnic, Amatu Village, Akaiga Secondary School, Mulika Dispensary, Mikinduri Dairy, Mukongoro Booster, Mlango Village and Theii Borehole, as well as adjacent customers.
