Emmerdale reveals Kev's new panic in tragic death plot

Emmerdale's Kev Barton fears Nicola King's wrath next week as the truth behind Jimmy's death comes to light.

When Vinny Dingle realises that it's time to come clean, Kev can't help fearing that he'll be caught up in the chaos before long.

In upcoming scenes, Vinny confides in Kev about how he wants to do the right thing after an emotional few weeks.

Kev assumes that Vinny is talking about repairing his relationship with Lewis, who's heartbroken after his proposal didn't go to plan. However, the truth behind Vinny's intentions becomes clear when he goes to visit Nicola at the café and confesses the devastating truth about the crash…

"Vinny can't carry on as normal, knowing that his reckless behaviour while driving led to the deaths of Jimmy and Dawn," explains our Emmerdale source. "He'd love to focus on settling down with Lewis in other circumstances, but that now seems impossible after everything that's happened.

"By this point in the story, Lewis has proposed to Vinny – fed up with waiting for Vinny to pop the question himself! As Vinny was stunned into silence, Lewis fears it's all over but doesn't understand why."

Kev, who'll always put Lewis's needs first, had been hopeful that Vinny could put his guilty conscience to one side and prioritise his relationship.

However, as the explosive consequences play out, Kev soon realises that he may have taken the wrong stance by initially urging Vinny to keep quiet…

"It's a difficult moment for Kev when he sees how emotional Nicola is," adds our insider. "He's always felt terrible about concealing the truth, but it really hits home when Nicola seethes over the way Vinny stayed quiet for weeks.

"Kev also worries about what Nicola will do when she finds out that he lied too – secrets always have a habit of coming out in the village!"

Previously, Kev was an unlikely source of support for Nicola in the immediate aftermath of Jimmy's death. Could this ruin the possibility of a beautiful friendship?
