Translate

The Abuakwa North Municipal Director of Education in the Eastern Region, Grace Adza-Wude, has urged students to take Science and Mathematics seriously to help address Ghana’s challenges and drive national development.

She made the call when the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Nana Ampaw Kwame Addo-Frempong, donated laptops and cash to three senior high schools for participating in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

The beneficiary schools are Bright Senior High School, Saviour Senior High School and Ofori Panin Senior High School.

Mrs Adza-Wude also called on teachers, parents and other educational stakeholders to encourage pupils to develop a strong interest in Science and Mathematics.

She emphasised that prioritising these subjects would equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop innovative solutions to Ghana’s challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament(MP) for Abuakwa North Constituency, Nana Ampaw Kwame Addo-Frempong, said the initiative is aimed at encouraging students to work harder and develop an interest in Science and Mathematics.

He also announced scholarship opportunities for students pursuing medical education to support their studies and encourage more young people to pursue careers in science and medicine.

The support is expected to motivate students to perform better academically and contribute to national development.
