Mattel just hit an ace with its latest Barbie launch: The brand officially unveiled its new Serena Williams Barbie today, and the tennis legend’s mini-me is ready for the court.

The doll is dressed in an outfit modeled after the one Williams wore at the 2005 Australian Open, complete with a white tennis skirt layered under a lime green jacket. Naturally, no tennis look would be complete without the accessories, so the Barbie also comes with a racket, headband, and matching socks.

The Serena Williams Barbie will be available online at retailers including Amazon and Walmart for just under $45. And the timing of the launch isn’t exactly a coincidence. The doll arrives ahead of International Day of the Girl on Oct. 11, an event Mattel says inspired the creation.

Barbie Signature Serena Williams Doll

Going fast!

“As we celebrate International Day of the Girl, Barbie is proud to honor Serena Williams. Barbie has always inspired girls to believe they can be anything, from the sports stadium to the fashion runway to the boardroom. Serena Williams embodies that message through her extraordinary achievements as an athlete, entrepreneur, and advocate for equality,” said Nathan Baynard, Vice President and Head of Barbie at Mattel, in a release.

While this is the latest official Serena Williams Barbie, it isn’t the first time Mattel has recognized the tennis superstar. In March 2026, the brand released the Serena Williams Role Model doll. Still, there’s something a little extra special about seeing Williams get the full Barbie treatment.

“Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me being told there was no limit to who they could become. I want every girl who plays with this doll to see possibility — not just in me, but in herself. She can dream big, work hard, change direction, break barriers, and become anything she chooses. That’s what makes having my own Barbie so meaningful to me,” said Serena Williams in a release.

The honor is yet another accolade to add to Williams’ full shelf; The tennis icon has 23 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals.

Nine Two Six Media

In addition to Williams, Barbie has been busy rolling out new dolls inspired by stars this year, including Miley Cyrus, Marilyn Monroe, and Angel Reese. The brand even recently added Lenny Kravitz to its “Kenbassador” collection, with the doll selling out at record speed.

And judging by the reaction from Barbie fans, the Serena Williams doll could be heading for a similar fate. Eagle-eyed Reddit users have already been anticipating the launch, with fan threads popping up as collectors discuss how and when they’ll get their hands on the new figurine.
