Police appeal for witnesses as cyclist dies following Kensington hit-and-run crash

A cyclist has died in a suspected hit-and-run crash in North Kensington, Met Police have said.

Officers were called at around 1.20am on Friday to a report of a man found seriously injured in North Pole Road.

Upon arrival, a 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

CCTV footage appears to show the crash involved a moped and the victim, who was riding an e-bike.

Police said the moped rider did not stop following the collision, and a cordon remains in place at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Wilkins, investigating from Hammersmith and Fulham CID, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at what is a very difficult time.

“We have launched a full investigation and are working hard to get answers and trace the moped driver.

“As part of this, we’re urging anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the e-bike or the moped to get in touch with us as soon as possible. If you have any information that could help, please come forward.”
