SHAH ALAM, Nov 8 — No evacuations have been carried out in Taman Sri Muda, Section 25 here following flash floods triggered by heavy rain this afternoon, which were also captured in videos circulating on social media.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said a similar incident was also detected in Kampung Baru Hicom, Section 26 during the department’s monitoring around Shah Alam.

“Water has risen at several locations, spilling onto roads due to overflowing drains. However, no evacuations have been carried out in the affected areas. The latest situation shows that the rain has stopped, although the weather remains cloudy,” he said in a statement today.

He said monitoring was also being carried out in other high-risk areas, including Jalan Kebun Bunga in Section 22, Section 13 and Jalan Kebun.

Earlier, social media users shared updates on flash floods following heavy rain between 3 pm and 5 pm today.

The posts included images and videos of areas around Taman Sri Muda and a shopping mall in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, showing rising water levels following the heavy rain. — Bernama
