Sonu Sood REACTS to 'Hanuman Ansh's stunning Rs 220 crore box office success: 'It's high time we make films not just for the glamour but stories'

'Hanuman Ansh', a film chronicling the life and miracles associated with spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba, has itself become something of a box office miracle. Starting off with little buzz upon release, the film has now surged past Rs 220 crore in collections, drawing praise from several names across Bollywood, including actor Sonu Sood.

Sonu Sood on 'Hanuman Ansh' box office success

Reacting to the remarkable run of 'Hanuman Ansh', Sonu Sood pointed out that its success shows a big budget, star cast or heavy marketing isn't always necessary for a film to work. What truly matters, he said, is a story that resonates emotionally with viewers. Speaking to NDTV, he said, "I am very happy that a film like 'Hanuman Ansh' is doing so well. Apart from the blessings, it also proves that it's not about budgets, faces or actors or the marketing.

It's about the content that works, something that connects with the soul."Sonu Sood further urged the industry to take a cue from the film's success and shift focus toward relatable, meaningful storytelling rather than scale and glamour. He added, "So I think it's high time we make films not just for the glamour but stories that can connect to the people, that they can relate to. I think that is what the biggest learning from 'Hanuman Ansh'."

Bollywood celebrities back the film

As Hanuman Ansh's box office numbers kept climbing, several film personalities publicly expressed their support, including Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Dhar, among others.Varun Dhawan, who watched the film with his mother, took to Instagram to encourage his fans to catch it in theatres. He wrote, "Please go to the theatre and watch 'Hanuman Ansh'. I just went with my mom, and it was an amazing experience.

Take your parents, go with your friends. I highly recommend this film to everyone. No one had told me to make this video, neither had anyone called me; I just wanted to do this. I have had a connection with Lord Hanuman since childhood, but this is something else.

This is a purely made film. I will not even call it a film; it's something divine. You go and experience it."He also lauded the performances and direction, adding, "Shobhinaw Satyaa ji is brilliant in the movie. What a performance. And Visha ji, the direction you did, hats off. Brilliant stuff. Please everyone go and watch the film."

Box office numbers

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, 'Hanuman Ansh's total India net collections have now reached Rs 222.88 crore, cementing its place as one of the year's most unexpected hits.
