Multiple Women Accuse Josh Jacobs of Past Incidents as NFL Reopens Review

Three more women have told police that Josh Jacobs hurt them, according to records released Friday night. The accounts came after the Green Bay Packers running back's May arrest and were part of the evidence in his battery case. Jacobs pleaded no contest on Sept. 10 to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property. The NFL says its open investigation will now include the new claims. His lawyers call the allegations old and uncorroborated, and the district attorney filed only two misdemeanor charges.

Josh Jacobs police records detail new allegations

The Hobart/Lawrence Police Department released the file in response to a public records request, and NBC 26 reported it first. Jacobs was arrested May 26, three days after the incident that started the case. The woman in that case said he threw her to the ground as she tried to leave through a garage door.

The other accounts reach back to his years with the Las Vegas Raiders. One woman said an incident happened on Jan. 5, 2022. She told police Jacobs became angry, threw her phone into a pool and pinned her down. Another described an April 2021 encounter that ended with bruises on her arms. Police said records from that night showed no visible signs of injury. A third woman said an altercation in May 2022 left her with bruises and scratches. She said she stayed silent because she feared being deported.

Two of the women gave reasons for waiting. One had stayed friends with Jacobs and feared no one would believe her. She came forward, she said, because she saw a pattern.

Jacobs' lawyers responded Saturday: "The Brown County District Attorney's office had these uncorroborated, old, and previously unreported allegations for months. They conducted their own exhaustive investigation, along with the police department, and the D.A. determined that only two misdemeanor charges were warranted. They then entered into a plea agreement with Josh Jacobs. Josh has repeatedly expressed his remorse and is honoring the terms of the agreement."

NFL review of Josh Jacobs allegations stays open

The league placed Jacobs on the Commissioner's Exempt List in August, and he missed the first six games. He was removed from the list on Oct. 16 and activated Oct. 24. League spokesman Brian McCarthy said Saturday that the NFL will review the new allegations as part of its investigation. How they affect any discipline is unclear.

Jacobs scored twice in his return against the Carolina Panthers. After one touchdown he briefly put his hands behind his back, which drew backlash given his arrest. He said the gesture was modeled on a gospel song called "Break Every Chain."
