The Undertaker has locked in the date for AAA's first show of 2027. It's a special Año Nuevo event on January 2, 2027, in Acapulco, Mexico, starting at 7:00 PM inside Arena GNP Seguros. The WWE Hall of Famer is AAA's Head of Creative, and he shared the date and time himself even though the promotion had already confirmed its first event of the year. The advertised lineup has El Grande Americano, La Catalina, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio and Omos, so it looks like a packed night.

The Undertaker Confirms AAA's Año Nuevo Show With a January 2 Date in Acapulco

Taker put it out through a post on X, where he sold the show as a fresh start to the year for AAA fans. He wrote that the new year would bring “new memories to make” and called the night “an unforgettable night” in Acapulco. Fans are pointed to WWE's official website for registration and more details.

Arena GNP Seguros is primarily tennis facility, a complex of courts and stadiums, and it can hold around 12,000 people. AAA has been there before too, since Noche de Campeones took place in the same arena on December 28, 2022.

The difference now is that WWE acquired AAA in 2025, and Undertaker is the one running the creative side. The card as advertised is built around AAA names.

El Grande Americano, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio and Omos Feature in the Advertised Lineup

The event graphic shows current AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano and Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina. Rey Mysterio is on it as AAA's general manager and a WWE Hall of Famer, along with Dominik Mysterio and Omos.

That Mysterio pairing has some history behind it, because El Grande Americano won the Mega Championship from Dominik at Triplemania 34 in Mexico City on September 13, after Rey counted the pin as the referee was down.

Perros Del Mal, Psycho Circus, Mr. Iguana and La Parka are also shown on the graphic. No individual matches were announced, so the names don't necessarily confirm who's facing who.

Omos has talked before about working with The Undertaker in AAA. In an interview with Unlikely, the Nigerian Giant explained why he asked permission before using some of the legend's signature moves.

“I have a ton of respect for The Undertaker,” he said, adding that he was brought up by old-school wrestlers and thinks a wrestler should ask before borrowing another star's moves.

He got approval first for the Snake Eyes and Big Boot combination, then asked about The Last Ride powerbomb, which he debuted during his run in Japan last year.
