Coronation Street's Christina to be caught out over Lucy secrecy

Christina Boyd is set to drop herself in it in Coronation Street scenes set to air this week. The funeral parlour employee discovered earlier this year that her estranged daughter, Rachel Parkinson, had died.
When she asked George Shuttleworth about Rachel, not revealing to him who she was, he explained that Rachel was the mother of Lucy, Sally and Tim Metcalfe's foster daughter.

Christina was stunned to discover she had a long-lost granddaughter, but Sally instructed her not to reveal who she was to Lucy. She eventually opened up to George about her discovery, but has so far kept the secret from Lucy.
In scenes set to air on Friday, October 30, her secret threatens to come tumbling out when Lucy spots something significant.
An emotional Christina arrives at the funeral parlour, saying that she "just wanted to comfort" Lucy, apologising for being teary.
"She was glued to her phone; she just wanted to show me these little clips from home, you know," she told George.
Before she could tell him about the upsetting video, Lucy burst into the funeral parlour demanding to know why Christina had a picture of Rachel on her keyring.
Christina braces herself to answer Lucy's question, but will she tell her the truth?

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Christina actor Amy Robbins explained how difficult her character finds the secrecy in her predicament.
"She tries to keep it a secret, but as you can imagine for Christina, she's not very good. She wears her heart on her sleeve and she's not very good at playing the long game – she just blurts stuff out because that's her nature," she said.
"It's about to get very awkward and difficult with Sally, very much so. The two of them have already got a history of squabbling. They're part of the same friendship group, but I think if any two of them from the gang are so different in personality, it's Sally and Christina. It's about to get very nasty between the two of them."
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
