David Alaba has signed his Udinese contract and delivered his first message to supporters, via the club’s official Instagram account.
“Hello Udinese fans, thank you so much for the warm welcome, I can’t wait to get started. Let’s do this together, Forza Udinese!”
Alaba signs for Udinese until June
The deal runs to 30 June, tying the 34-year-old to the Friulani for the remainder of the season. He had been a free agent since 1 July, when the five-year contract he signed at Real Madrid in 2021 expired.
It is his first move to Italy. Alaba came through at SV Aspern and Austria Vienna before joining Bayern Munich in 2008, spending 13 years in Bavaria with a loan spell at Hoffenheim in 2010-11. He won ten Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues there, adding two more in Madrid.
