The Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed the plunder case against former Pampanga Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales who is still facing multiple graft cases.

According to a 24 Oras report on Tuesday, the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence.

While the Ombudsman has dismissed his plunder case, Gonzales still faces three counts of graft.

The Ombudsman filed the cases after Gonzales had an alleged engagement as a contractor while he was still a lawmaker.

Gonzales was a Pampanga lawmaker from 2007 to 2013 and later won another term from 2016 to 2025.

In 2025, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said that Gonzales and other lawmakers were being investigated for alleged conflict of interest.

The former lawmaker has already posted P270,000 bail for the three counts of graft. Gonzales said that he will prove his innocence.
