Masked Singer SA season three: Who are the four masks left?

The third season of The Masked Singer South Africa draws to an end on Saturday 26 September at 19:00 with the finale airing on SABC 2. Who are the last four masks left in the competition?

THE MASKED SINGER SOUTH AFRICA SEASON THREE FINALE

The Masked Singer South Africa is heading into its Season 3 finale, which will air on SABC 2 on Saturday 26 September at 19:00 (with repeats on SABC 1 Thursday at 21:00 and SABC 2 Friday at 13:30). After weeks of performances and celebrity unmaskings, four costumed contestants remain in the running for the trophy: Mosquito, Chopsticks, Spotty and Gogga. During the finale, each will perform once more before they are unmasked, and their identities revealed.

Throughout the season, the show’s detective panel, which includes J’Something, Somizi, Sithelo Shozi and Skhumba had been trying to figure out who was under each mask. They were joined by guest detectives like Jason Goliath, Moshe Ndiki, Tbo Touch and Zee Nxumalo, who also had their chance to guess who’s behind each mask using cryptic clues.

WHO ARE THE FOUR MASKS LEFT?

GOGGA

Gogga isn’t just cute, she can really sing, and her voice has the judges wondering if she’s a famous singer or someone from a totally different career.

She said her name gets shouted or chanted a lot. She’s also very curious, and this has taken her into unusual places including a science lab, where a Nobel Prize once showed up in her clues. She’s a trailblazer from her hometown, she studied near someone called a hippo. She also seems connected to royalty, since crowns have appeared in her clues all season.

She’s pink-haired and fluffy, and she has two big traits: she’s strong and patient, but also a bit forgetful and bad at managing time. As a child, she remembers laughter coming through open windows, and her mother was part of a singing group (a quartet) that was never quiet.

Some of the pictures in her clue packages included a crying emoji, a flamenco dancer, and a starry night sky. But the real hints may be in her mystery box, which had a beauty pageant crown, a padlock, a pair of dumbbells, and a house number ” sign.

SPOTTY

Spotty’s singing voice has convinced the judges (including J’Something) more than once that she is a professional singer. But she’s also dropped a lot of other hints along the way. In her very first clue package, shown against a child’s drawing and a house called “Spotty’s Rock Pad,” she hinted that her biggest hero wasn’t a superhero, but someone she took care of and kept warm. She also said she’s acted like a “law enforcer” since she was young.

Some of her clearest clues were about her family. One of her sisters shares a name with a famous supermodel, and Spotty is one of three sisters. This missing part might connect to something she said about an injury never stopping her from chasing a beautiful sunrise. She also shared that her favourite childhood memory is a seaside holiday that was both happy and sad, that she has a loyal four-legged companion at home, that she’s performed for royalty, and that (like a plane or a phone signal) she can “travel without moving” and is most powerful when she’s quiet. In the semi-final, her mystery box contained a model white BMW 325i, an African mask, a soft-serve vanilla ice-cream, and a photo of the Mandela Bridge.

MOSQUITO

Mosquito is high-energy and his performances have been a big hit. That height clue has helped the judges rule out several possible celebrities. He comes from a family of famous “Mosquitos,” and his dad was also successful and well-known. Another big clue: he started his career in 2020.

Shown against a backdrop of a nighttime fairground, he admitted he sometimes tests out his skills just for fun, but he’s known since he was young that he loved being in the spotlight. He’s travelled to many different places, worked with valuable or high-quality things over the years. He also called himself a “national hero,” said he was born during one of South Africa’s oldest ongoing shows or performances, and mentioned that his aunt gave him and his siblings their nicknames. His mystery box contained white trainers, a wedge of cheese, a ring light, and the star sign Gemini.

CHOPSTICKS

Chopsticks gave cryptic clues throughout the show, and the judges think she might be an “It-girl” who’s very social and popular. Her Japanese-themed costume didn’t always match her clues though. However, everyone was impressed by her singing voice.

In her stylish clue packages, shown against famous South African landscapes, she said her name has a glowing, glamorous, big-city feel, and that she learned how to make people “glow” long before filters existed .Change and growth were a big theme for her as she described herself like a caterpillar that transformed into a butterfly.

She also said her life moves fast, that her love life has been dramatic like a movie, and that instead of choosing a normal career, she wanted total freedom and the wealth to enjoy it. While people watched her exciting public life, she was secretly planning things behind the scenes. She’s known for dropping hints and letting people figure things out on their own.

She admitted she gets hurt easily, the same kindness that helps others has also been the easiest way for people to hurt her. Even so, she’s always bounced back and stayed strong, and she’s stopped keeping count of how much media attention she’s gotten. As for her parents, one was her rock and the other reflected who she is. While her grandmother in a rural village helped shape her character.

Her semi-final mystery box included a mini-bus taxi model, a plate of sushi, sushi-themed socks, a neon “love” sign, and a gold CD.
