Data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, that the value of Egyptian exports to South Korea rose to $44.6 million during the first half of 2026, compared with $40.1 million during the same period in 2025, marking an 11.2 percent increase.

Egyptian imports from South Korea totaled $595.7 million in the first half of 2026, down from $661.1 million during the corresponding period of 2025, a 9.9 percent decline.

According to CAPMAS, the value of trade exchange between Egypt and South Korea reached $640.3 million during the first half of 2026, compared with $701.2 million during the same period in 2025, registering an 8.7 percent decrease.

CAPMAS attributed the decline in bilateral trade to the decrease in Egyptian imports from South Korea.

Meanwhile, South Korean investments in Egypt surged to $736.3 million during the first half of fiscal year 2025/2026, compared with $77.2 million during the same period of fiscal year 2024/2025, marking an 853.8 percent increase.

Meanwhile, remittances from South Koreans working in Egypt amounted to $4.82 million, compared with $4.84 million in the previous year, representing a 0.6% decrease.
