Michael Keaton's Dark Knight returns over three decades after one of the most popular Batman films ever.

Keaton first portrayed Batman in Burton's 1989 movie before reprising the role in Batman Returns. The sequel introduced several of the comic book franchise's iconic villains to the screen, including Danny DeVito's Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. The movie was his last movie as Bruce before he reprised the role in the 2023 superhero film, The Flash.

Keaton's iconic iteration of Batman is getting another chance to shine as McFarlane Toys prepares to release a new collectible inspired by the actor's appearance in Batman Returns. The upcoming action figure recreates Bruce Wayne from Tim Burton's 1992 sequel, offering collectors another way to celebrate one of the most recognizable versions of the Caped Crusader.

The toy company has revealed a new unmasked Batman action figure inspired by the 1992 DC movie, bringing Keaton's version of The Dark Knight to its DC Multiverse lineup. The upcoming release arrives 34 years after Batman Returns premiered and comes as McFarlane Toys approaches the end of its DC action figure licensing agreement, which will expire in December 2026.

The new toy is officially titled Batman Unmasked (Batman Returns) Deluxe Theatrical Edition. It recreates Keaton's Batman in costume, but without the hero's famous mask. The figure also comes with several accessories, such as a broken mask, grapnel launcher, batarang, two extra hands, and a base.

McFarlane Toys' upcoming Batman release is a seven-inch figure. The new collectible differs from traditional masked Batman figures by showing Bruce's face. According to the product description, it also features Ultra Articulation, with 22 moving parts. The toy also comes with an art card.

The Batman Unmasked Deluxe Theatrical Edition figure is currently available for pre-order on McFarlane Toys' website for $34.99. The item is estimated to ship in November 2026. However, the exact date is subject to change.

Keaton's Batman is also part of a group of three Deluxe Theatrical Edition figures, featuring characters from different DC live-action projects. The other two action figures are based on Oswald Cobblepot from HBO's The Penguin and Batgirl from the 1997 movie Batman & Robin. McFarlane Toys is offering a bundle deal listed for $89.22 for all three. If all three are purchased individually, it would cost $104.97.

The upcoming releases arrive during a transitional period for DC collectibles. McFarlane Toys introduced its DC Multiverse line in 2020, selling action figures based on characters from DC's comics, TV series, video games, and films. However, the company's current licensing arrangement is coming to a close as Mattel prepares to expand its deal with DC. Mattel has already started introducing products under its new agreement and is preparing to launch a new line in 2027.
