A concussion has ruled New Zealand batter Devon Conway out of the ODI series against India. Conway and fast bowler Matt Henry missed the series-opener in Auckland on Wednesday after colliding during fielding practice on the eve of the match. While Conway will play no part in the remainder of the series, Henry has been cleared of concussion and will be available for selection for the second ODI in Wellington on Saturday.

Nick Kelly, who was originally selected for only the fourth and fifth ODIs, now joins the New Zealand squad in Wellington. Kelly has been withdrawn from the New Zealand A squad, which is due to begin the third match of its unofficial Test series against India A in Lincoln on Saturday, with his place going to Auckland batter Dale Phillips.

There are two other changes in the New Zealand A squad, with fast bowlers Simon Keene (hamstring), Ben Lister (side) and Fraser Sheat (side) ruled out with injuries. Keene and Sheat suffered their injuries earlier during the series, and will both "return to play for their domestic teams in the next three-to-four weeks," according to an NZC release.

Gibson and Brett Randell will now stay on with the New Zealand A team for the third unofficial Test, and Danru Ferns will join them in the squad.

With top-order batter Henry Nicholls having been added to the New Zealand ODI squad last week, Tim Robinson will stay on with the New Zealand A squad.
