Durosinmi Reveals Secret Behind Impressive Start At Genk
Rafiu Durosinmi has credited his Genk teammates for playing a key role in his impressive start to life at the Belgian Pro League club.
The Nigeria international joined Genk from Italian side Pisa during the summer, and has quickly established himself as one of the team’s standout performers this season.
Durosinmi was once again on target on Saturday, scoring in Genk’s 3-0 victory over Kortrijk to take his tally to six goals in eight league appearances.
Durosinmi Opens Up On Impressive Form
The 23-year-old attributed his prolific start to the support of his teammates, while admitting that wearing Genk’s famous Golden Bull shirt provides him with additional motivation.
“I’m happy to be able to put on the shirt with the Golden Bull. It gives extra motivation to be able to continue wearing this sweater. With the help of my teammates, I manage to score smoothly. I hope we can continue on this lane,” Durosinmi told HBVL.

“The most important thing is not that I’m at the top now, but that I’m still there at the end of the season. Otherwise, it will be of little use to you,” he added.
Striker Reflects On International Break
Genk’s win over Kortrijk marked their first outing following the international break, during which Durosinmi remained in Belgium to spend some quality time with his family.
The forward revealed that he enjoyed the brief rest but admitted that he missed competitive action during the period.
“I stayed in Genk. We had a few days off that I was able to spend with my family. That was very nice. Although I did miss the game,” he said.
“We missed some points for the break. It was important to give everything for the club and the fans and to start again with winning games. That’s what we were so hungry for.”
