Jalaluddin denies move to table no-confidence motion against MB

Negeri Sembilan Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias has denied claims he intends to table a motion of no confidence against menteri besar Ismail Lasim during the coming state assembly meeting.
Jalaluddin said no discussions regarding the matter had taken place.
“It is untrue. There are no plans or discussions whatsoever to table a no-confidence motion against the menteri besar. Why would I do such a thing?” he told FMT.
The Pertang assemblyman said the state administration is running smoothly and there is no leadership crisis.
“So far, we have no leadership issues involving the menteri besar. Let him (Ismail) do his job, and I, as the party chief, will do my job as well.
“We still have many plans and programmes for the benefit of the state and the community that need to be accomplished,” he said.
Earlier, a source said Negeri Sembilan Umno is considering a motion of no confidence against Ismail in the coming state assembly meeting.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Jalaluddin would table the motion.
“The decision now rests with the central Umno leadership,” the source told FMT.
According to the source, a new state executive council lineup might also be announced if the move to table a no-confidence vote against Ismail were to proceed.
The next meeting of the state assembly is scheduled to begin on Nov 26, having been postponed from Oct 16 to align with the tabling of the state budget for 2027 the following day.
