Emmerdale airs surprise return for major character in early ITVX release

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Friday’s episode (30 October), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Emmerdale has aired a brief return for Victoria Sugden in a surprise scene from today’s episode. Victoria left the village back in February for a fresh start in Portugal with her son Harry after a devastating chain of events involving the death of her and Robert’s brother John.
But with Robert embarking on a new chapter as he takes over the Hide, will he be able to tempt his sister back?

In today’s episode, Robert and Aaron were adjusting to Sarah, Jacob and baby Leyla living with them at the farm. Enjoying having a child in the house, Robert shared his hopes that his son Seb would live with them again soon.
Robert was also pushing forward with his plans for the Hide, liaising with a kitchen designer ahead of the restaurant’s reopening. But kitchens aren’t exactly Robert’s specialist subject, so he decided to phone his sister Victoria for advice and to sell her the vision of the new business, as he wants her on board.
Robert called Victoria to announce his plans, with Isabel Hodgins making her first appearance as her character since exiting the soap for maternity leave earlier this year.
In a bid to convince her to run the kitchen, he attempted to sell his sister the dream, with food in the restaurant being grown, delivered, cooked and served by the family.

But Victoria turned him down, making clear that she was happy where she was. She even told Robert that she doesn’t think she’ll ever feel like coming back to the village.
Aaron joined the call in support of his partner, telling Victoria that Robert had put a lot of hard work into the business and it would be even better with her involved.
However, Victoria remained firm on her decision to stay in Portugal, and disappointed Robert was left wondering what to do next.
It seems Victoria is staying away from the village for good, but with Isabel confirming in April that she would be back “later this year”, will something happen to change her mind about returning?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
